Baby update

So we went to the doctor again the other day to get Aubree's 10-week ultrasound.  Aub had been having some signs of trouble with the pregnancy, so it was with a little bit of nervous anticipation that we went forth.  The first image on the ultrasound screen was an extremely active little fetus, complete with rudimentary limbs and everything.  It was amazing to see how much it had grown and developed in such a short time.  Then they moved the device around to try to get a look at the other baby, but things were not so good.  The other fetus had stopped developing at about the 8 week stage, and there was no visible heartbeat.  It was a difficult mix of relief and happiness for the one, and loss for the other.  Our good doctor gave us some words of comfort, and empathized with us.  He said that he and his wife were having twins on their first go-round.  He was so excited that he told everyone, but then she lost one, and it was extrememly difficult for the two of them.  He told us that one is the ideal situation though.  We're supposed to come one at a time.  The potential for complications is dramatically reduced.  So while it's really sad and everything, it's probably for the best.  And we're both really happy with how well everything else has been going with the other.  Now if we could only come up with some names we agree on...

We're really sorry to hear about the loss, guys. We can somewhat understand, but we know that it's hard and different for everyone. You know you can always call us if you need anything! We're praying for you guys and are so excited for the baby you will have!
