A Day Off

Today was Taylors day off so we decided to head up to Diamond Fork ( in Spanish Fork Canyon) It took some convincing, but Taylor talked me into riding on the back of the motorcycle up that speedy winding road. At the top of Diamond Fork we started a hike that took us to some awesome natural hot springs. The trail still had snow on it, but today was such a warm day that we both got sunburned from being in the sun after a long long LONG cold winter.

A New Baby!

Today my sister Mandee had a baby boy - 7 lbs 6 oz. and soo cute. Seeing that precious new baby (Paul) makes me think of what amiracle life really is!
Mandee had a c-section so dave dressed into scrubs and they headed into the operating room. It was amazing that only 20 minutes later Paul took his first breath!

MOAB

This last weekend was loads of fun! We joined my parents, brother and his in-laws for some adventures in Moab First we did some rappelling...

Yes, we went straight up that wall in front of us! Pretty much insane huh!


Taylor was laughing the whole time while my stomach was doing somersaults!

I love my major!

So, first of all - I am not pregnant! I didn't even know about Taylor's scheme unitl I got home from class, but I have to admit it was worth it just reading all your comments! Haha! And I got some phone calls from shocked friends... it was hillarious!

Now that that is settled... My major is Therapeutic Recreation and I finish classes in only 10 days! It is the coolest major at BYU! Yesterday in class we learned a new activity in facilitation techniques - and after we learn about it we try it! So, we did slacklining and I found some cool videos about it so check it out cause it is so neat!

A little announcement...

Hey there kids. It's Taylor again. So I have a little announcement. I would have liked to wait again and have people discover it on their own, like the whole engagement thing, but as we are currently residing in another state, so I decided to post it on here and see who the true and faithful are. So Aubree and I have been suspicious for a little bit, but we finally had it confirmed. We are in fact expecting. Madness. I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm shocked and overwhelmed and excited all at the same time. Aubree is more so. I'll let you all know as matters progress.

SNOW?

We woke up this morning and got ready for church and when we opened the door... it was a blizzard! Thick and fluffy and everything! - and i was so excited for spring to finally be here! This picture is the view we had from the car on the way to church.

How to celebrate Easter like a it was meant to be...

So this is my (Taylor's) 2nd official post on this here blog.


The day before Easter we headed down to ol' Green River and went trapsing out in the wilderness near there. The Mrs' family goes canyoneering pretty often, and the weather finally took a turn for the better so we decided to hit it up. It was close to the Moab/Goblin Valley/Reef National Park region. We drove on this dirt road for a few miles, then parked on what seemed like an inconspicuous patch of dirt, which was the trail head. We then hiked down into this wash that was deceptively broad and unassuming.



We followed it down as it got narrower and deeper until we reached the first rappell. Aubree's dad researches these areas beforehand and has this amazing book with all kinds of handy information about what to expect and how to maneuver through the various obstacles you encounter on the way. But I still got to be the guinea pig to make sure everything was happening like it was supposed to.

After that first rappel, we had a couple fun challenges. There was a big drop that was too short to rappel, but too long to jump down that was kinda hairy. Then we had to get over this gap by wedging ourselves between both sides of the canyon and shimmied across like common insects.


After squeezing across for a while, then traversing the cave-like slot canyon, we came to the second rappel.

We continued on through the narrow, twisting passageway, with only a narrow slit of sunlight overhead more often than not. I wondered several times what it would be like to come across the 3 foot gap from the top.



We finally made it to the last rappel, which ended up being the most straightforward and simple. It was fun.



From there we finished traversing the slot canyon to where it met up with a few others and opened up into a massive canyon system where Jesse James and company used to make their headquarters. Finding the exit was a little tricky. We had to make up for all the altitude we had lost by climbing straight up through this narrow crack. It was pretty difficult.




After finally making it back to the car, we feasted on some lunchables, pringles, and thin mint cookies.

The next day, Aubree had some mean bruises all over her from wedging between the rocks for so long and climbing up so much. Under her bicep was the worst so I snapped a picture while she was fixing her hair for church.


Kinda reminded me of Rosie the Riveter...

I am 22!

So March 11th was my birthday and it was spectacular! I love how we all celebrate getting older!


My awesome husband made these delicious crepes for me for breakfast - It was a party in my stomach!

I wanted to try taking a picture in the rear-view mirror but we rode the bike so we tried it with that mirror.


We had a picnic at rock canyon park and it was soo warm and nice out!


We had dinner at Outback - Prime Rib mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!


I got a birthday sundae and it was gone (witht the help of all) very quickly!


Taylor called all my friends and i came home to quite the surprixe!

PHAT LEWTS!

So, because we got hitched we had two receptions and five bridal showers! This is how we accumulated so many phat lewts (in taylor's terms). So here is our sweet apartment filled with sordic phat lewts!



This toaster is amazing! That thing on the side poaches and egg while your bread toasts, and it all gets done at the same time! A nutritious breakfast in a matter of minutes!


We love our splendidly soft towels!

It's an ice-cream maker - we seriously love this one!
