It's Fall in the Mountains!

I have been missing the colorful leaves that come during the fall!
In the valleys everything is still pretty green, but it's fall in the mountains! So we headed up to the higher elevated land for the day to hike around and enjoy the cool fall air! I am so happy we live by the mountains!

Taylor was so excited!

It's so b-e-a-utiful!

We read the warnings with care...

but despite the cautioning words,
Taylor had to be a dare devil and make this death defying leap!

My husband is so brave!

A Birthday Luau!

Saturday Kathy threw a Luau birthday party for Ray's 60th birthday!
She spent all day getting everything ready and it turned out to be an amazing party!

We had fun getting all dressed up!

There was so much good food
(fruit to make it nice and tropical-like)

Kathy did an excellant job
decorating & making everyone feel like they were in Hawaii!

The Hawaiian haystacks were dilicious!

We all paused to sing happy birthday to Ray
What a lucky man!

The cake Kathy made was sooo good!

Definately a party in my mouth!

We all gathered 'round to wath the Afualo's fire dance!

He got some of the kids to do the chant with him
and the kiddies couldn't stop laughing!

Three kids at once!

Last week we got to hang out with the three coolest kids
all week long!
(Mike and Amber: you can go to Hawaii anytime!)
We spent a lot of time at grandma's swimming and eating...

While Spencer and Brinley were at school we had lots of time to play with Staci!

We wanted to finger paint but we didn't have any paint on hand... so we made some! It was a fun adventure!

After cooking some cornstarch, flour, and water we mixed food coloring into this jelly.
Then we made our master peices!

On Friday the Chudy's invited us all to visit their farm and the kids got so excited!
Staci couldn't wait for Brinley and Spencer to get out of School so we could go!

They ran to the car as soon as they saw us and we were on our way!

They had a blast feeding the goat and chickens!

and they all picked plenty of apples.

That night the bbq at grandma's was tons of fun!
The whole week was soo much fun!

Labor Day Weekend!

So Friday morning our plans fell through and we had no idea how we were going to get to Utah for my family get-together on Saturday. We looked up rental cars, but they were too expensive, so we decided flying would be the easiest way! We bought two airline tickets that left California on Friday afternoon, and we arrived safely in Utah that night! What an adventure!

Our cabin is at Bear Lake and it is named Cullowhee because my uncle says Cullowhee is the most beautiful place he has ever seen. (It is a city in North Carolina)

We filled the boat with babies and went skiing first thing!

I had to take pictures of my nieces and nephews in their cute bathing suits!

Marshall's speedo was my favorite!

For dinner we had a yummy BBQ!

My favorite was the strawberry pie we had for Luke's birthday!

Happy Birthday Luke!

Then we headed down to the beach to roast some mallows over the awesome fire Taylor and Dave started!

Josh entertained us with some tunes.

Then we whipped out the sparklers and fireworks!

My brothers got the big ones in Evanston, Wyoming that aren't even legal in Utah. (Luckily we were on the Idaho side.)
It was quite the show!

Taylor and I took "Pheobe" to church on Sunday.
All of my cousins helped Grandy to paint this VW Bug, and boy does it turn heads!

Sunday evening a storm a crazy storm rolled in across the lake. We all went out on the porch to have a look!

On the way back to Utah we had to stop at Merlin's to get famous Bear Lake rasberry shakes!
